FFL Transfer Instructions

FFL Transfer — How It Works

All firearm purchases require transfer through a federally licensed firearms dealer (FFL) in your area. This is required by federal law. Here’s exactly how the process works.

Step-by-Step FFL Transfer Process

  1. Place your order on Miamishooterssupply and complete checkout
  2. Find a local FFL dealer — search GunBroker’s FFL finder or ask your local gun shop
  3. Send your FFL dealer’s information to us at [email protected] (dealer name, address, license number, email)
  4. We ship directly to your FFL dealer — typically within 1–2 business days
  5. Your dealer contacts you when the firearm arrives
  6. Complete ATF Form 4473 and background check at your dealer’s location
  7. Take possession of your firearm once approved

FFL Transfer Fees

FFL dealers typically charge a transfer fee of $15–$50 per firearm. This fee is paid directly to your dealer — it is not included in our pricing.

What You Need

  • Valid government-issued photo ID (must match shipping address)
  • Pass NICS background check (conducted by your FFL dealer)
  • Meet all state and local requirements for firearm purchases

State Restrictions

Some firearms and accessories are restricted in certain states. Items that cannot ship to your state will be noted at checkout. It is the buyer’s responsibility to know and comply with their state laws.
